There are many exciting new markets in and around the peripheries of South
Eastern Europe which are opening up to investors. Piraeus Bank is already a
major lender in Bulgaria and Greece and a cornerstone of our growth strategy
involves expansion in countries such as Albania, Romania, Cyprus, Egypt and
Ukraine - we already have operations in all of these - and we are constantly
looking for opportunities to broaden further our geographical coverage. And
in all of these new markets we are seeking the best ways to deliver to our customers
the products which expect from us.
Mortgage finance is one of the products which interest our customers who see
the opportunity to invest in markets which offer the same kind of explosive
growth potential which has been seen recently in countries such as Bulgaria.
