Lending criteria

For a detailed discussion of our lending criteria we suggest that you contact one of our Underwriting team, however certain parameters are common for all the countries which we lend in:

AgeYou need to be over 21 and below 70 at maturity of the loan
Residential status
Depending upon the product, you need to be resident in Greece, Ireland or the UK (although we lend to ex-patriots who retain UK or Irish bank facilities as we collect repayments on our Overseas Mortgages by Direct Debit)
Number of applicants
We lend to a maximum of 2 individuals if borrowing jointly (a joint application is often required for married applicants) or a maximum of 2 shareholders when lending to a company
Financial status
You need to have stable earnings (employed for a minimum of 3 months; if you are self-employed you need to have been trading for at least 2 years)

You must have a clean credit history

An assessment is made of your ‘affordability’ i.e. your ability to repay the loan given your income and financial commitments
Evidence
Evidence of deposit is always required as well as of identity, address, income, employment and credit history
